In the Flow Studios started out as a dream in 1992, when Aurora and Roland Ferrer opened their first martial arts studio together, Kadan Martial Arts. At that time their focus was on taking the martial arts to the highest level they could and sharing it with as many people as they could. They trained elite athletes as well as young children in multiple martial arts styles and disciplines. Their martial arts studio out grew its first location within 3 years and their family grew with two sons, Kadante and Roland. They chose their second location not only to accommodate their larger student base but also to facilitate broadening their scope to honor the great martial arts masters of the past as well as their love for the arts and humanities.
The arts, healing and humanities have been integral parts of the martial arts journey from its inception. For thousands of years amongst diverse cultures, countries and peoples the mastery of physical martial arts is accompanied with mastery in other arts. (Healing Arts, Horticulture, Calligraphy, Music, Dance, Painting, Sculpting, Poetry, Animal Husbandry, Farming, Meditation)
“It is difficult to understand the universe if you only study one planet” ― Miyamoto Musashi, The Book of Five Rings
The Ferrers had hoped their second location would one day become the home of In the Flow Studios and for a brief time it was. They had a chance to offer dance, pilates, music, acting, cultural classes, art, Rocks & Culture Shop, Arts Open Houses and fundraisers for a number of years. Circumstances turned and they had to leave their location of 16 years. The Ferrer Family stayed committed to their dream of bringing artists together to enrich not only their martial arts but to create a community of creative, talented, inclusive people wanting to use their art to help others.
For 8 years these talented and well-respected artists have donated their time, wisdom, art and heart at ITFS Arts Open Houses & Fundraisers to help raise funds and awareness for those in need at the Ferrer residence. Regardless of their (artist) notoriety or fame these generous people stepped up to share their art in a humble venue just to be of service to others. ITFS artists helped to keep the dream alive until the Ferrers could find a location suitable to become a permanent home.
In the Flow Studios now has a beautiful facility to call home as well as a diverse online studio and shop. ITFS is committed to supporting, empowering and inspiring its students, clients, audiences and artists, locally and globally. ITFS has a network of masters in their fields ready to share their knowledge of voice, dance, martial arts, painting, meditation, acting, body consciousnesses, cultural arts, and so much more. We believe that art in its many styles and disciplines is essential for a balanced and enriching life. Through the ITFS Arts Program our mission is to highlight as many artists and art-forms as possible and to share them with the public. We hope to inspire the young and the young-at-heart alike to fall in love with art.
In the Flow Studios Arts is dedicated to supporting the artist. Artists help awaken our senses and open our minds to possiblity. They shed light where there is darkness and hold us accountable for our realities as well as our dreams.
With budget cuts to many arts programs in schools, we feel it's our responsibility to reach out to art-lovers and to give back to artists. The internet gives us the ability to reach artists and art-lovers all over the world in the hopes of inspiring them to "follow their bliss".
"The artist is the true seer and prophet of his century, the justifier of life and as such, of course, a revolutionary far more fundamental in his penetration of the social mask of his day than any fanatic idealist spilling blood over the pavement in the name simply of another unnatural mask."
Joseph Campbell, The Inner Reaches of Outer Space
Our Arts Open Houses are not typical art shows. We combine visual and performing arts. We invite veteran artists as well as encourage some to share for the first time. The focus is on the artist; art appreciation, collaboration and inspiration.
These events are about sharing art in as many different disciplines and mediums as possible. It’s all about the "heart work" and creating a venue that both nurtures and inspires artists and art lovers.
These events are open to art-lovers of all ages. Here we give artists the opportunity to share their art in a supportive and encouraging environment. We have no art critics, only art lovers.
Our shows have been graced with professional talent from all over the world. Check out our blog to learn about some of the artists we have hosted and enjoy some of our performing arts clips. We encourage you to follow those artists that inspire you on their blogs, websites or social media pages.

In the Flow Studios ~ Body is a space to reconnect with our bodies and revitalize our minds. We're dedicated to providing cutting edge health and wellness information by the foremost minds in Western Medicine, Eastern Medicine as well as Alternative Medicine.
Most of us have been convinced that it is natural for our bodies to decay as we age. We accept ever more limiting mobility and lack of vitality as an inevitable consequence of getting older. Our bodies do change as we age, but what if many of the symptoms we attribute to age are actually a result of lifestyle, diet, lack of mobility, dehydration, not enough sleep, etc.? And what if we were given the tools to take a more active and better educated role in our health?
At In the Flow Studios Body we believe in the health benefits of prevention, cleansing and revitalization. As we become better educated about our bodies, we increase our quality of life. We've spent years gathering data from some of the foremost experts in their fields so that we can bring you the latest information about: quality of movement, longevity, health, vitality and healing.
In the Flow Studios Body shares new research studies and modern medical break-throughs as well as looks to the wisdom of our ancestors and the healing power of Mother Nature. We hope to bring you relevant information that you can implement to enrich your experience of daily life and encourage you to step outside your comfort-zone.
We host expert workshops and class series. We try to provide links or contact information for each of our featured experts. This gives you the opportunity to research further on any given topic as inspired.
Our Open Mic Nights are focused on providing a nurturing, creative and safe environment for artists to share new concepts or work out new material. Our focus is on collaboration through inspiration for artists of different disciples, cultures and genres to share their craft.
We host singers, musicians, poets, writers,
storytellers, performing artists, dancers, comedians and have a small gallery space for visual artists. We host professional artists as well as encourage artists to share for the first time.
Open Mic's are only open to participating artists and guests by invitation only. We keep these events intimate so that artists can feel free to experiment and explore. It's about creating a space that is safe to bear the artistic soul.
Once the scheduled performances are completed for the evening musicians and dancers are welcome to have an open jam session. We encourage artists to collaborate as well as to step outside the box and find new perspectives.
We set the PM hours of our Open Mic Night to reflect that there will be some works that may not be suitable for younger artists. It is a mature teen and adult event.

Artists are some of the greatest humanitarians around. They're all about giving back and paying it forward. We've had the honor of hosting Arts Open House fundraisers for the past 10 years. We have supported organizations such as: The L.A. Food Bank, I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue, Children's Hospital Orange County as well as individuals in need of a helping hand.
Our biggest success to date was the One Love Arts Fundraiser for Women for Women International, co-hosted by Kathy Araneta-Delfin. We had over 40 visual and performing artists participate and raised $5,000 for the women of the D.R. Congo.
We are happy to help non-profits and individuals trying to make the world a better place. If you need talent or art for an upcoming fundraiser or an event to raise awareness please contact us. We will do what we can to connect you with talented artists that want to lend a helping hand to your cause.

“How can we know who we are and where we are going if we don't know anything about where we have come from and what we have been through, the courage shown, the costs paid, to be where we are?”― David McCullough, Brave Companions: Portraits in History
We hope you'll visit our library often and find new sources of inspiration.

Mana Keepers offers crystals, rocks, books, music, prints, cards, and art-work from local and international nature-loving artists. Nature has the power to rejuvenate, exhilarate, sooth, heal and inspire. It can stir the soul, elicit wonder, calm the mind of stress and ease tension from the body. Many of us in modern society don't have the occasion to enjoy the benefits of nature in our daily environment. Mana Keepers strives to give people everywhere an opportunity to bring a bit of the natural world into their everyday lives.
"I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature, which, if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright." ~Henry David Thoreau
When we loose our connection with Nature’s rhythms and cycles, we become disconnected from our bodies and emotions and get “stuck in our heads”. By engaging in the restorative energies of nature we help bring balance and harmony to our lives. That’s why for centuries artists, philosophers, scientists, healers and lovers have been inspired by Mother Nature.
"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." ~Albert Einstein

Our Meditation/Reiki/Energy Flow classes are great for beginners as well as advanced practitioners. Each class is unique, meaning no two classes are ever the same. We focus on breath, colors, music and guided meditation to help the conscious mind and body relax while soothing the subconscious' tensions.
Consciousness is energy and the more freely it flows the greater possibilities for deeper self-awareness, well-being and clarity. We focus on bringing our awareness to the present to release anxiety and stress.
By using guided meditations, crystals and minerals, music, breath colors and visualization we quiet the mind and unlock creativity and connectivity. Finding our center helps us to reconnect with the Chi/Mana/Prana (life-force energy) that flows within and throughout the entire cosmos.
We also host special classes accompanied by live harp music provided by Roland H. Ferrer of Sound of Zero. Roland is an inspired musician and has been a Reiki Level One practitioner from the age of 10 years old. He is known for his harp free-flow. He prepares his free-flow music through meditation/prayer and then shares what he is given through Inspiration. His free-flow music is always unique and always informed by the energy he feels during meditation and prayer.
Dewdrops Images offers original nature inspired: prints, postcards, greeting cards, apparel, decorations and inspirational photo books. We're honored to bring a little bit of nature's peace into everyday lives. We've all heard "a picture is worth a thousand words". That's because images speak directly to our subconscious mind. Our subconscious is constantly being bombarded with images on television, the internet, billboards, magazines, etc. These images are "talking" or stimulating us all the time. They chatter things like "You need a new car, You should loose weight or You want that new smart-phone". Photographs of nature talk to us as well. They bring her natural healing into our consciousness. They give our stressed mind's a chance to let go and relax.
Dewdrops Photos bring images that represent, harmony, balance, strength and healing to sooth, calm and inspire a nature-starved world. From inspiration to fruition each image is taken with respect and love for Mother Nature.
“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things are connected.” ~Chief Seattle, 1854
“A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.” ~ Albert Einstein

ITFS has been honored to host and to collaborate with some truly amazing artists. Many of whom are masters in their artistic fields or up-and-comers bringing a dynamic new flow. These artists are not only gifted in their fields but are also people of integrity, generosity and action. They have wowed our audiences and inspired us to grow collectively as an organization and individually as artists.
Our artists have brought smiles to those downtrodden by generously sharing their art to lift spirits as well as to help fill bellies, provide shelter, help with medical bills, and raise awareness.
The ITFS community of artists is a reflection of a variety of visual and performing artists all coming together through inspiration to do their part in making this planet a better place for all. Our artists are a wonderful example of "think globally, act locally" and "treat your neighbor as yourself".
We encourage you to visit our page and get to know our artists and friends better and when you find one or more that inspire you please visit their sites to learn more about them.
