I would like to ask for your help and participation in an art piece to honor International Women’s Day 2020.
I am re-shooting my poem “The Women of the World Are Crying” and would like to include as many voices as are inspired to participate. This poem was not meant to be read by one voice but by many voices coming together as one to speak for our sisters, our daughters, our planet, ourselves.
The participants will only need to read the chorus, “And the Women of the World Are Crying” and I will read the rest.
The link below has a write-up about my last event, copy of the full poem and final film.

Our Open Mic Nights are focused on providing a nurturing, creative and safe environment for artists to share new concepts or work out new material. Our focus is on collaboration through inspiration for artists of different disciples, cultures and genres to share their craft.
We host singers, musicians, poets, writers, storytellers, performing artists, dancers, comedians and have a small gallery space for visual artists. We host professional artists as well as encourage artists to share for the first time.
Open Mic's are open to participating artists and guests by invitation only. We keep these events intimate so that artists can feel free to experiment and explore. It's about creating a space that is safe to bear the artistic soul.
Once the scheduled performances are completed for the evening musicians and dancers are welcome to have an open jam session. We encourage artists to collaborate as well as to step outside the box and find new perspectives.
We set the PM hours of our Open Mic Night to reflect that there will be some works that may not be suitable for younger artists. It is an 18 and older event.
If you would like to share a piece you are working on or try something new please post in comments so we can add you to our lineup.
We will have food and refreshments available for purchase during the artist/collaboration and mixer portion of the evening.
$10.00 online and pre-sale $15.00 at the door
You are invited to Mana Keepers Shop's Grand Opening at In the Flow Studios. We will have some of our most prized pieces on display and will offer some pieces for sale. In the Flow Studios is kindly hosting a FREE MIXER with finger foods and refreshments.
About Mana Keepers Shop Mana Keepers offers crystals, rocks, books, music, prints, cards, and art-work from local and international nature-loving artists. Nature has the power to rejuvenate, exhilarate, sooth, heal and inspire. It can stir the soul, elicit wonder, calm the mind of stress and ease tension from the body. Many of us in modern society don't have the occasion to enjoy the benefits of nature in our daily environment. Mana Keepers strives to give people everywhere an opportunity to bring a bit of the natural world into their everyday lives. "I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature, which, if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright." ~Henry David Thoreau
When we loose our connection with Nature’s rhythms and cycles, we become disconnected from our bodies and emotions and get “stuck in our heads”. By engaging in the restorative energies of nature we help bring balance and harmony to our lives. That’s why for centuries artists, philosophers, scientists, healers and lovers have been inspired by Mother Nature? "Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." ~Albert Einstein
For those of us that live in cities or densely populated suburbs it may be difficult to find a space in nature to meditate in. Many of us don’t have the opportunity of enjoying the benefits of immersing ourselves in nature on a daily basis. As a result our bodies suffer as does our vitality and our creativity. “The earth has music for those who listen.” ~William Shakespeare
Even if we can’t move to a new location or drastically transform our lifestyles we can still effect positive change in our current environment by adding aspects of Mother Nature. Living plants, crystals, waterfalls and nature photographs can all help change stressed living spaces into a more harmonious and enriching environment. "In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous." ~Aristotle
We will have a guest list at the door and will be cross-checking names with invitations. Thank you and hope to see you there.
