In the Flow Grow brings new life to our In the Flow Studios family. Health, sustainability, water conservation, equitable food accessibility, education and nutritional empowerment are the pillars of In the Flow Grow. We offer products and ideas to enhance and promote better physical and mental health through growing your own organic produce. We strive to help people find growing techniques and/or systems that will best fit into their lifestyle. Growing food not only enriches your body but also enriches the environment by producing life that will circle back to feed the earth.
There is a growing need in many parts of the world (some as close as our own backyards) for innovative and earth friendly ways to produce nutritious foods. In the Flow Grow shares stories, techniques and philosophies of different types of growers from urban settings to homesteads. We highlight different growing and composting technologies as well as share growing tips and product reviews. We hope to inspire more people to find ways to incorporate food production into their daily routine. Our mission is to help as many people as possible find ways to grow fresh, organic, nutritious food.

Our In the Flow Grow Shop is honored to be official representatives to two of our favorite hydroponic grows Tower Gardens and IG Works Indoor Grow. At In the Flow Grow we won’t represent or sell any items we don’t personally use and love ourselves.
Here’s a little background of how we came to expand our lives and our organization through In the Flow Grow and hydroponic growing. We had always wanted to grow our own organic fruits, greens and vegetables but found it difficult to have reliable yields. We were beginner gardeners trying to grow food in the horrible ecosystem found in our yard. We spent hundreds of dollars on soil, building raised beads, plant food and nontoxic pest control yet our plants continued to get annihilated by pests and devastated by a poor ecosystem. Most seedlings didn’t make it to maturity and those that were able to produce had their harvest times cut in half. It seemed as though no matter how many hours we spent toiling in our garden we couldn’t keep up with the demands of our garden. Then one day we tried a new way of growing and feel in love with it!
We started with a single (6 tear) Tower Garden tower two years ago. We sprouted our own butter lettuce as our main tower crop and placed the seedlings in the tower. Lettuce is sensitive to heat and living in Southern California we weren’t able to grow lettuce in the summer heat until we used the tower with roller base. We were able to move the tower to the shaded areas of our yard and protect the lettuce from direct sunlight throughout the day. Our greens were raised off the ground which limited predation from creeping and crawling pests. We had the opportunity to enjoy a rich harvest of high quality organic greens with a fraction of the effort and water it took to grow in our raised beds. We had some setbacks with our first Garden Tower grow but were inspired to learn more so that our next crops would fair even better.
We have been growing beautiful fruits, greens and vegetables in our Tower Gardens system for two years and couldn’t be happier. We still grow crops like corn and larger varieties of squash, tomatoes and cucumbers in soil but have transitioned the vast majority of our crops to our outdoor and indoor hydroponic growing systems. We have nutritious, organic produce year round using 95% less water than with traditional growing methods.

Plants and animals appreciate certain types of music and sound patterns. The old saying that “music can tame the savage beast” is more than a myth. Studies have shown that both plants and animals have biochemical reactions to sounds that are soothing as well as sounds that cause distress. (See references below)
Roland H. Ferrer’s Sound of Zero Music is a flow of musical inspirations mused by nature and translated into sound via the harp, flute and piano. Roland has been playing with nature and for nature since the inception of his musical education. As a young harpist he would often bring his harp to the park, to wildlife centers and to the beach. He would accompany the sound of the falling rain and howling wind as well as play tributes to the full moon. It’s not unusual for birds and butterflies to circle and for trees and plants to dance when he plays.

Our Planting It Forward Ideology is about using the knowledge, education, contacts and resources developed through In the Flow Grow to give back and lift up those in need. We are committed to working with local charities to help bring sustainable food production to people living in food deserts. Food insecurity is real for far too many people but by working together and contributing our talents, time and resources we can end hunger and foster self-sustainability. In the Flow Grow in collaboration with In the Flow Studios will donate 10% of each In the Flow Grow sale to the United Nations World Hunger Fund.
If you are inspired to help end world hunger you can donate directly to the UN World Food Bank or volunteer your time and/or donate to your local food bank.
